Chimamda Adichie (One story)
ReplyDelete1) It's really hard too understand. But I think she talked about prejudice. she said when someone gets prejudice about one perspect that will makes you wrong sight (which sees the world)
2) the way to see the world. there was many prejudice(single story) in the world. she said to read many kinds of story is very important, and I definetly agree with that.
3) the story what she told to us is too long. SO I can't find the point what she wants to tell us easily.
4) maybe... more reaction. Or summing-up. it was too prolix. if she uses best example and short story, it would be great.
Hey Joon ho! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Chimamda Adichie.
ReplyDeleteHere are my responses to your answers (remember this was supposed to be for discussion on April 3rd....but we can start here.)
1) I know it's a challenge to understand. I recommend watching it a few times before trying to trying to comment, but i think you got the gist of what she was trying to say.
2) Why does she say to read many kinds of stories?
3) Do you mean that her story should be shorter?
How could she have given the same information in a shorter time?
4) How do you think she could have shown more reaction?
In your opinion, what part could have been summed up better?
(I'm. sorry I can't figure out what "prolix" is. Could you explain? Thanks.)
Would giving a simple example and telling a short story be a better way of getting her story across to listeners, or would it just be more convenient for you?
Cheers,
Greg
